Founded 1845 Who are Christopher Pratts? From a single-room miner's cottage in Gunnerside, Swaledale to the largest and most lavish furniture store in the country at Regent Street, Leeds, Christopher Pratts has come a long way in over 160 years. At the age of 21, Christopher Pratt became an apprentice to cabinet maker Joseph Nutter, and 5 years later, in 1845, formed his owned business. Quickly, the quality and craftmanship of the furniture produced by Christopher - and eventually his sons - won over many new customers. The sons started selling our craftsmens' work and soon the business became the north's leading furniture store. After over 160 years, demand for the Chrstopher Pratts selection of fine furniture, soft furnishings and the highly personal levels of service meant that the family owned company had to look for larger premises. From Gunnerside to Leeds, the journey has been well worth it - for Christopher and for you!

Went in looking for a specific brand of furniture, the salesperson was very helpful and I found exactly what I was looking for. It was delivered on time and in a very professional manner.

I'll definently be visiting this store again. (They've also got a great web site)

Bought a very expensive leather 3 pice suite where the dye wore off within the guarentee period. Pratts were unhelpful and claimed it was because we had sat on the leather so it was our fault. We have a brown leather suite with bright red patches Pratts will not help and indeed were quite nasty. My wife is devastated and wants to throw it on the tip but it cost over £2500 and we cannot afford to replace it.
