i was first introduced to The Surma at a charity meal through a fellow councillor. Haven't looked back since, my children and their partners, friends and friends of friends all now make a bee line straight for this resturant for a great enjoyable evening. The staff make you feel so welcome and at home.
The best indian in weston. don't take my word for it go and try it.
Have been eating in this restaurant for several years,it changed hands about 4 years ago, thought it could not get any better, but my wife and I were very surprised and happy,as it remained by far the best indian in weston and actually got alot better. The quality of choice and taste of the food is excellant, the staff are friendly and very proffessional.Once you have eaten in this restaurant, you will always find other indian restaurants not quite up to the mark.

I am not an expert by any means but i have eaten in almost all of the curry houses in and around Weston, i have lived here for ten years and in all this time i have never found anywhere that compares to the Surma.
Fantastic food, value for money and a welcome that is second to none.
So if you want a great night out go to the Surma and enjoy.

Myself, my partner and our five children love eating at the Surma. The staff are fantastic with our family, catering for all our needs. Our yougest is nearly four and our eldest is fourteen. They all insist on us having a family curry at the the surma for each of our birthdays. We've tried most of the local curry houses and this is the best by far. The chef ( Islam) is a great chef, he used to work in Clevedon until the owner died. We were so glad to find him cooking again locally. In fact my mouth is now watering, so I am going to pop there tonight for a Lamb Balti.

We moved to weston super mare 5 years ago and have tried every restaurant in the town. The Surma is, in our opinion the best in weston. We have been going there every week since we first ate there, everyone is friendly, and the food is fantastic!

Outside of India, I have eaten Indian food in Australia, Japan the US and all over Europe and it's very hard to match this place. This little restaurant is great and don't be fooled by the lack of fancy decor, in my experience that's often a good thing. If you order a Lamb Madras you do not get Mutton, unlike many of the other Indian Restaurants in the area which I'll get to soon. Also you don't get those occasional pieces that are gristly and probably from the lambs more undesirable areas. The chicken tastes fresh and freshly cooked, the spices are strong and the hotter dishes are not just packed with curry powder. Some hot dishes in other restaurants just have a load of curry powder bunged in to get the temperature up but it just ends up sticking to and burning the roof of your mouth. Well, the Surma is not one of those places. Every dish I have tried over the years has been a pleasure and the vegetarian options are also great. Freshly cooked food, fresh spices and fresh herbs, you can tell from the first taste. The guys who run it are very decent and professional as well. Enjoy
