Local businessman Jonny Masters will be doing his bit to help the environment this Christmas by delivering eco-friendly USB catalogues to his clients by bicycle. Jonny, the 26 year old managing director of Recognition Express Leicester West, will be spending this Friday (7 December) using pedal power to deliver the catalogues to clients and cycling as far afield as Coalville, some 15 miles from his Hinkley base! The USB sticks are made of 100% recycled plastic and are not wrapped in plastic or bubble wrap but in shredded paper, in a recyclable aluminium box. They not only contain details of Recognition Express products and services, but also have 512mb of additional space for clients to use as they wish! Jonny decided to produce the electronic catalogues following the floods which had so devastated large parts of the UK earlier in the year. “I was born in Tewkesbury and it was very distressing to see somewhere I know so well completely under water. There is so much talk of climate change these days that we tend to forget about it, but when I saw the effects of the flooding it suddenly made it very real,” he said. “Out of this devastation, the Eco USB was created – and I decided that the only way this project would be truly green would be to deliver them by hand, using only pedal power instead of petrol!” Keen cyclist Jonny, who has just celebrated his first year in business at Recognition Express Leicester West, has spent the last few months in training - going to work on his bike and even travelling to some business appointments on it. Recognition Express specialises in providing organisations with corporate recognition goods such as name badges, branded promotional products, business gifts and signs. Jonny will be out and about on his bike delivering his unique catalogues on Monday 10th December. My job is: Managing Director My blog or website: http://www.re-leicesterwest.co.uk
